MarketWatch.com seeks a reporter to help up with our markets coverage, with a focus on covering the hedge-fund industry and other major buyside investors. The ideal candidate would be clued into how major investors see financial markets, how they are trying to profit and be able to chronicle both their successes and failures. This candidate would also be able to assist in MarketWatch’s coverage of breaking news on markets, companies and the economy.
Essential job functions:
- Monitor and write stories about what major investors are doing
- Develop and cultivate sources within the asset management business
- Ability to write clean, clear prose both for industry insiders as well as average folks
- Analyze and write stories about how major markets and companies are performing
- Eagerness to jump on breaking news
- At least 2-5 years in business journalism
