Our mission is to be the most influential and beloved journalism company for the digital generation. We cover the people, companies, and ideas changing our world. Our team members embody and uphold Insider’s three core values: we are all one team, we are effective, and we strive to get better every day.

  • Assign and edit stories that frequently lead Insider’s homepage and newsletters.
  • Brainstorm creative angles into the stories everyone is talking about, whether it’s through photo-based storytelling, as-told-to interview-based essays, or fast-follow analysis.
  • Coordinate breaking news coverage, handling sensitive story edits, sharpening headlines.
  • Coaching writers through the reporting process.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

  • A sharp news sense, a passion for storytelling, and a wealth of great ideas
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable frequently giving and receiving feedback.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, a digital-first mindset, and the ability to motivate people to do their best work.
