Inside INdiana Business is an award-winning multimedia news platform that distributes business news through an Emmy award-winning weekly television show, website, several email newsletters and two daily radio reports.
We’re looking for a reporter with strong vocal delivery (preferably with on-air broadcast experience in radio or television) and the ability to write stories quickly and accurately. A strong candidate will be comfortable producing audio reports under tight deadlines. Knowledge of Adobe Audition is preferred but not required.
Inside INdiana Business is based in Indianapolis, but this staffer can live and work anyplace in Indiana. Periodic travel to Indianapolis will be required, and we expect the reporter will do occasional traveling within the state (day trips) for stories.
IBJ Media is locally owned and the home of three well-respected news brands: Inside INdiana Business, Indianapolis Business Journal and Indiana Lawyer. This radio reporter/host will be part of a larger newsroom of more than 20 journalists. The company and Inside INdiana Business are seeking to make a bigger impact statewide through video, radio, events, statewide emails and regional emails based in South Bend and Evansville.

Responsibilities
- Writing, recording and editing afternoon reports for Inside INdiana Business’s public radio affiliates as well as the IIB Radio on Demand podcast.
- Writing and reporting for Inside INdiana Business’s twice-daily newsletters with a focus on generating statewide stories.
Inside INdiana Business is based in an affordable capital city with a metro area population of more than 2 million people but in a smaller newsroom with plenty of opportunity to make a big impact. Our offices are located on the city’s historic Monument Circle—the literal and figurative heart of Indianapolis, just blocks from stadiums, the Statehouse, the Indianapolis City Market and much more. But you could also make your home in any of Indiana’s thriving mid-sized cities—including Fort Wayne, Evansville, Bloomington, Lafayette, Muncie or Terre Haute—or in one the state’s great suburban or rural communities.
