California’s housing crisis grows more dire, and nowhere is that more apparent than the Central Valley. Fresno remains one of the last affordable places to live in the Golden State, which has fueled the housing market and driven up rent and mortgage costs. As the Business Journal’s real estate reporter, you’ll be on the front lines covering both residential and commercial real estate, as well as education. We seek an enthusiastic reporter onsite in our Fresno office.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran in journalism or just starting out, we seek applicants who are excited about writing stories no one else can and shaping the local news cycle. Candidates should be comfortable shooting video, taking photos and contributing to our social media channels. The Business Journal has a supportive, close-knit team that takes pride in being part of a five-generation family media business. We offer a competitive compensation package, including paid time off, a health benefits plan and opportunities for performance-based pay raises starting after 90 days.
This is a full-time position. The starting compensation range is $19-$22 per hour based on experience. Must have own transportation.
To apply, include a cover letter, resume and samples of your best work in an email with the subject line “Real Estate Reporter” to editor@thebusinessjournal.com.
