The ideal candidate has a proven track record of breaking news and building Wall Street sources to track North American loan sales as they are marketed to investors. This is a fast-moving beat that demands daily scoops on new financings powering some of the Terminal’s most valuable functions. You’ll also write with clarity for a broad audience and be comfortable digging into financial documents and datasets.
It’s a pivotal time to cover the market. Buyout activity is rebounding, technology companies are raising unprecedented sums to finance the AI buildout, and borrowers across sectors are grappling with elevated funding costs. Meanwhile, software companies facing AI disruption must navigate looming debt maturities and refinancing challenges.
A strong understanding of corporate finance and debt markets is essential. The role involves close collaboration with reporters covering adjacent areas of leveraged finance, including private credit, junk bonds, private placements and collateralized loan obligations.
