After nearly seven years, I’m saying goodbye to the Journal. I’ll be starting a new adventure in a few weeks.
It’s so tough to leave this special newsroom, and I feel endlessly grateful to have spent these years working with and learning from so many of you—truly the best journalists in the business. Thank you to all the colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic who became friends, and to the editors who patiently and expertly guided my stories. I’ll miss it here, and I’ll miss working with all of you.

McCabe is a markets reporter for The Wall Street Journal in London, where she covers hedge funds and other big investors. Previously, she was a reporter for the Journal in New York. There, she focused on individual investors and their growing influence on financial markets. She helped lead coverage of the 2021 meme-stock mania and the rise of trading platforms such as Robinhood. Her work on the subject won the Gerald Loeb Award for breaking news and a Front Page Award from the Newswomen’s Club of New York.
