The Bankrate team is looking for a Senior Editor who will be responsible for leading editorial coverage for content partners.
This editor will be responsible for assigning Deposits, Credit Cards, and Investing articles, managing a team of freelancing contributors, editing articles and coordinating with key partner stakeholders. The right candidate is able to identify topics for monthly assignments and develop quality, engaging content with a quick turnaround.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify, assign and edit Deposits and Credit Cards articles in line with AP Style and brand voice and tone
- Produce 20-30 new articles and 6 content refreshes per month
- Update existing articles for compliance edits as necessary
- Build and manage a network of freelancers for content creation
- Work closely with vertical editorial and SEO teams to organize content calendar
- Coordinate content priorities and production with key stakeholders of the external content partner
- Build and execute a thorough content calendar of roundups, reviews, guides, and comparison articles for partner sites up to 3 months in advance
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years editing experience with consumer-driven, personal finance content, preferably in the categories of Deposits, Credit Cards, and Investing
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Editorial operations experience in advanced content planning a must
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while keeping up with fast-paced content production processes
- Experience meeting tight deadlines while working independently to manage multiple publishing projects
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional peers and external stakeholders
- Personal finance experience or knowledge of credit cards, deposits, and wealth categories
- Familiarity with AP Style and using content style guides
- A solid understanding of data and performance metrics and experience leveraging it
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and the ability to build strategy around them
