Bon Appetit is looking for restaurant writers

If you want to write about restaurant culture I would love to work with you.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Bon Appétit is where food and culture meet. This food lifestyle brand covers food through the lens of cooking, fashion, travel, technology, design and home.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

I am proud of the stories we’ve been publishing about restaurant culture. This one today, about a food court and business incubator in Buffalo by Alana Pedalino, with such perfect photos.

And this incredible piece by Maggie Hennessy about trendy restaurant names and why they sort of all sound the same.

Or a story about a candle in a restaurant bathroom that you bought on the spot? Kendra Vaculin
did that.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  •  50 cents per word- Our standard rates begin at $250 for stories in the 400-word range and go up from there as determined by word count, experience, and the complexity and/or amount of reporting in the piece.
