Fox Television Stations seeks a news writer

KTVU FOX 2 is seeking individuals that have a respect for journalism and want to be part of the station’s best in class reporting, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes! Be part of a winning team with a diverse culture that believes in supporting, mentoring, and training our staff. We are searching for a newscast writer.

Responsibilities:

  • Seeking a writer to support our afternoon and evening newscasts
  • This is an excellent position for someone looking to gain writing and producing experience in a top-rated newsroom.
  • Writer must have strong journalism skills, understand writing for television newscasts, work under tight deadlines, build graphics and collaborate with producers and assignment desk.
  • Writer will be trained to produce newscasts and will fill-in on occasion.
  • Only candidates interested in producing will be considered.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required; 4-year College degree is preferred.
  • Experience with iNews or other newscast software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Excellent position for someone looking to gain writing and producing experience

Salary: $30.44-43.45 per hour for California
