Fox News and Fox Business are looking for an Associate Homepage and Social Media Editor. The Homepage and Social Media Team is responsible for programming FoxNews.com, the Fox News app, FoxBusiness.com and the Fox Business app, as well as Fox News and Fox Business’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
As an Associate Homepage and Social Media Editor, under the guidance of Homepage and Social Media Editors, you will be engaged in newsgathering and the creation of new, unique elements to illustrate stories. You will be monitoring live streaming events, posted on both the homepages and social media, as well as producing quote pics and clips for posting on social media. You must have a sense of the brand, write headlines and be aware of real-time analytics. Flexibility in your schedule is vital to this role as you are required to work some holidays and shift your schedule as news breaks.
You will be offered one of the following shifts (both shifts include at least one weekend day):
AM Shift: 6AM – 2PM, ET
PM Shift: 2PM – 10PM, ET
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write engaging, headlines for both the FoxNews.com homepage and FoxBusiness.com homepage and social media platforms
- Balance analytics and editorial judgment to program homepages and social media accounts
- Headline and image test all placements on both homepages
- Collaborate and produce photo illustrations and montages
- Monitor live streams and press conferences for use on the FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com homepages
- Work closely with editors, producers and reporters
- Participate in broader strategic discussions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of newsroom experience
- Strong writing skills, ability to operate under pressure
- Strong news judgment and knowledge of current events
- A firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com audience
- Photoshop and prior experience working in a CMS preferred
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $59,500.00-70,000.00 annually for California, Washington, New York City and Westchester County, NY. $49,500.00-58,300.00 annually for Colorado.
