Forbes Media seeks an enthusiastic, diligent Editorial Assistant to support the Chief Product Officer and Editor of Forbes Magazine.  This job is administrative with huge editorial opportunities to gain exposure in an entrepreneurial digital and magazine environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a keen interest in journalism and the media industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • General office administrative duties for editorial department
  • Organize meetings, maintain calendars and travel arrangements
  • Act as total liaison for Chief Product Officer and Editor in all communications
  • Process invoices and manage expense reports
  • Fact-check stories for Forbes Magazine and proofread online posts
  • Coordinate and plan all editorial events and meetings
  • Assist in editorial development for conferences and events
  • Assist Editorial Staff with special projects for large editorial packages
  • Manage repositories of editorial information within Excel and Google Docs
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for research projects
  • Work closely with Corporate Communications and Sales teams to schedule panels and speaking engagements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6 months to 1 year work/internship editorial/journalism experience, preferably at a publication
  • Ability to multi-task and project manage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work well with all levels of staff and management
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint and Google Docs
