Journo Jobs

Five open journalism jobs at the NY Times

The New York Times is seeking a deals reporter to cover the high-stakes world of mergers and acquisitions. The right candidate should be able to produce a mix of important scoops, hard-hitting investigations, news analyses, trends stories, and features. This person should also be digitally savvy and ready to experiment with new forms of storytelling.

The publication is also seeking a hedge fund reporter to cover the fast-moving, influential world of hedge funds. The right candidate should be able to produce a mix of important scoops, hard-hitting investigations, news analyses, trends stories, along with profiles and features.

Additionally, the Times is looking for a tech reporter who will be able to tell the story of tech in New York through narrative and investigative pieces, as well as through breaking news. Candidates should be able to readily switch between stories about tech as a business to tales of how New Yorkers are using technology in their everyday lives.

It is also looking for two members of its newsletter staff — a technology newsletter writer to reimagine and steer a new tech newsletter that will broadly speak to audiences around the world. The writer will work across the newsroom with various departments and reporters. Candidates must be self-starters who are collegial and have at least 10 years of tech reporting and writing under their belt; and a technology newsletter editor to edit and steer a reimagined daily tech newsletter that will broadly speak to audiences about how our lives are changing with and because of technology. The editor will work with one main writer to shape smart commentary, analysis, witty writing and colorful interviewing for the newsletter.
