Digiday seeks a senior reporter

Digiday Media – the umbrella company of the publications Digiday, Glossy, Modern Retail and Work Life – is looking for an experienced business reporter. The ideal candidate will have a background in business journalism – well versed in subjects like media, advertising, retail, fashion and beauty – as well as a readiness to learn about new industries and business models.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Write daily reported stories that either break news or provide exclusive analysis
  2. Write recurring feature-length stories
  3. Build a growing rolodex of insider sources
  4. Participate and help lead Digiday Media editorial events
  5. Be a front-facing member of the Digiday Media team
  6. Help shape Digiday Media’s coverage

Requirements:

  1. Three to five years of business reporting and writing experience
  2. A willingness to pick up the phone and cultivate a network of sources in the industry
  3. An interest in a variety of business industry news

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
