Delaware daily seeks small business reporter

November 10, 2014

Posted by Chris Roush

The News Journal, the No. 1 online and print source for news in Delaware, has an immediate opening for a business reporter to cover small business and innovation.

Nearly 70,000 small businesses in Delaware employ more than 40 percent of the working population here. And Delaware has a long and strong history of innovation, whether it be in the sciences (Gore, DuPont), financial services (MBNA) or just great ideas (Dogfishhead).

This reporter must keep on top of the highly competitive innovative nature of Delaware’s small businesses, spotting trends and writing deep enterprise stories about what is working now and what is on the horizon.

Our business reporters are very active in social media and must be able to work in a 24/7 newsroom. Tweets, blog posts, video interviews and online updates are a regular part of the job. Delaware is a great place to live, just 20 minutes from Philadelphia, 90 minutes from Baltimore and 2 hours from Washington, D.C. and New York City. Delaware beaches are among the best on the East Coast.
