This beat requires an ability to deftly move from people-focused stories on skills gap and workforce development issues to hard-hitting data analysis of trends involving the local and state economy to providing local insight into national economic signals that cut across a multitude of beats. Our region’s economic challenges change frequently and are forged by growth – Dallas-Fort Worth added more than 100,000 jobs in the last year and more than 360 people move here each day.
This coverage also will increasingly focus on economic development strategies employed across our region, from actively pursuing companies outside the state to relocate here to the use of tax incentives to seal those deals.
