Dallas Morning News seeks business copy editor

DallasMorningNewsLogoAre you a great copy editor with an interest in business stories? The Dallas Morning News wants you. We are looking for someone who loves words, writes engaging, informative headlines and photo captions, knows grammar and spelling, and is a stickler for accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives under deadline pressure and enjoys a collaborative work environment.

Knowledge of the CCI publishing system and design skills are a plus, but not required. Hours vary, but all involve night shifts, weekends and holidays.

The successful candidate:

  • Can write a headline that draws readers in
  • Has excellent language skills
  • Can spell
  • Understands business stories
  • Can spot an error and knows how to fix it
  • Can select and edit wire stories
  • Likes to collaborate with co-workers
  • Is self-reliant and resourceful
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of one year of copy editing experience (internships included).
