Corridor Biz Journal seeks a reporter

June 1, 2026

Posted by Chris Roush

The Corridor Business Journal is the publication that the area’s most influential business leaders and entrepreneurs read to understand what’s actually happening. We’re looking for a hungry, driven journalist who wants to matter in a market, not disappear into a wire feed.

This is a beat with real stakes. You’ll cover a seven-county region that includes a Big Ten university, a booming tech and manufacturing sector, and some of the most dynamic economic development in the Midwest. You’ll be cultivating C-suite sources, breaking news, and writing enterprise stories that move the needle.

What you’ll do:

Develop and own sources across the Corridor’s business and civic communities, produce a mix of daily news and deep-dive enterprise pieces, and bring genuine curiosity to every assignment. You’ll be expected to find the story others miss — and tell it better.

What we’re looking for:

A sharp writer with at least 1–2 years of journalism or news reporting experience, AP style fluency, and a solid grasp of business concepts. You’re fast, accurate, deadline-driven, and you actually want to get better at this craft. Multimedia and photography skills are a plus.

What you get:

The CBJ is a locally-owned, award-winning media company that’s growing. We offer competitive pay and benefits, a Monday–Friday schedule with rare weekend commitments, flexible hours, and a hybrid work setup. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that works hard, holds each other to high standards, and takes real pride in what we publish.

Benefits include: Health, dental, and vision insurance · HSA/FSA · Life insurance · Paid parental leave · PTO · Flexible schedule
