CNNMoney.com seeks multiplatform editor in Hong Kong

The CNN Money team is looking for a Multiplatform Editor in Hong Kong who will play a key role on the MoneyStream team, focusing on covering companies, business personalities, markets, tech and the economy. Be part of a digital startup within CNN, the global leader in news. What will you be doing?

– Covering breaking news
– Discovering the most important and interesting stories of the day
– Writing compelling stories and the headlines that sell them
– Finding ever more creative ways to tell stories – Working closely with writers, video and TV journalists, designers, and programmers to ensure your stories are seen by millions
– Ensure editorial integrity across all platforms, confirming the editorial “voice” is in line with the overall direction set for the site(s)
– Conceptualize and executes user-driven strategies on social platforms through organic and paid social seeding
– Collaborating with teams large and small to assist the growing CNNMoney newsroom.

Qualifications:

What do we need from you?

– Ideal candidates will have 4-plus years of writing and reporting experience.
– Strong research, interviewing and writing skills.
– Some knowledge of financial markets and a keen interest in investing and business news.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work in a fast high pressure environment.
– Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Television-Film Production, Communications, or related discipline or equiv. work experience.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
