The Casper Star-Tribune is seeking a top editor to lead the newsroom and set the editorial direction for a news and digital media organization with a history of serving readers the best local and statewide news in Wyoming.
The ideal candidate to guide this award-winning news organization should be highly organized, nimble and focused on growing audience through impactful and unmatched local news coverage. We are looking for a proven leader who can direct, inspire and guide a newsroom, and to work across departments to shape strategy.
Our goal? Tell compelling, inspiring and memorable local news stories across multiple platforms. The editor will be responsible for planning and developing impactful coverage, from breaking news to in-depth enterprise reports and special projects, with an eye toward content innovation that attracts new readers.
The next editor of the Star-Tribune will join a team that is continuing the print and digital transformation of this news market. A successful candidate will have experience managing staff, recruiting and developing journalists, and planning all aspects of news coverage that engages readers. Above all, the editor should be a relentless advocate for local news.
The Star-Tribune has been named the best daily news organization in Wyoming for five of the last six years, and our reporters regularly win state, regional and national journalism competitions.
