The Casper Star-Tribune is seeking an experienced editor to lead the news team. The ideal candidate has the ability to inspire the newsroom to grow our audience by reporting impactful and unmatched local news for print and digital platforms.

Responsibilities & Skills

  • The editor is responsible for planning, developing and implementing news coverage strategy including breaking news, enterprise stories, sports, and features.
  • This position plans the story budget
  • Ensures stories are ready for immediate digital posting
  • Ensures an effective workflow
  • Edits stories
  • Produces content as needed.
  • The successful candidate will have supervisory experience
  • Is able to juggle the demands of digital and print journalism
  • Top candidates will have the ability to develop strong community connections
  • Understand the importance of digital reporting in today’s world
  • Have the ability to develop and implement successful strategy to meet company goals.

Casper is located in Central Wyoming with wide-open scenic spaces and mountain views. Outdoor enthusiast will find many activities such as hiking, climbing, fishing, skiing, golfing, and more. Casper, a city of near 60,000 offers big-city amenities, affordable housing, and a thriving downtown.
