Business Insider seeks tech reporter to cover Amazon and e-commerce

Business Insider is hiring a full-time tech reporter to cover the business of Amazon and the ecommerce space more broadly.
This person will cover all things Amazon, from bizarre items selling on its website to its ever-changing Marketplace platform. This reporter will be responsible for covering the daily news related to the company, but will also be expected to develop sources and deliver scoops. In addition, the reporter will also help cover other ecommerce giants and their strategies.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced news environment and is enthusiastic about writing a mix of articles, including reported features, short posts, and analysis pieces.
You will write stories like:

  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent news judgement and a strong ability to quickly frame stories in a clear, conversational way that makes people want to read more.
  • The ability to work at a fast pace as part of a team.
  • Experience covering business news.
  • Comfortable writing trend stories, analysis, and short news hits.
  • A team player who is excited about the opportunity to own BI’s Amazon coverage.
This is a full-time position based in either New York or San Francisco.
