Business Insider seeks reporter to cover consumer companies

Business Insider is looking for an experienced reporter to cover the companies behind some of the most popular brands and products in the world, including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Unilever, Nestle, and more.
These consumer product giants are facing a rapidly evolving landscape as new rivals crop up and technology dramatically changes everything from the supply chain to the way consumers shop.
The ideal candidate will source up inside some of the world’s largest and most powerful companies to deliver scoops and exclusives, as well as interviews with the C-suite executives calling the shots. The reporter is also expected to write industry trend stories and analysis pieces. All stories will be targeted towards Business Insider’s subscription audience, which expects news they can’t find anywhere else.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 3-5 years of reporting experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • The ability to develop sources and deliver scoops
  • A strong understanding of consumer trends
  • An ability to explain complicated topics in a clear, concise manner
  • An understanding of how readers consume news digitally
  • An ability to work at a fast pace and juggle several stories at once
  • A knack for identifying the heart of a story quickly

This is a full-time position and it requires that you work in our Manhattan office. Business Insider offers competitive compensation packages complete with benefits.
