Business Insider seeks executive editor in London

We are looking for an Executive Editor to run Business Insider in the UK.

The Executive Editor will lead our Business Insider team in London, managing reporters and editors across the finance, tech, social, and global translation desks.

This person will be a driven storyteller with a history of agenda-setting scoops. They will have proven experience of managing a large team, and be able to inspire and lead the newsroom in producing a wide range of original stories, investigations, and features.

The ideal candidate has:

An excellent editorial background and proven experience of working at a digital publication
Great clips, including a mix of breaking news and analysis
A love of breaking news and driving major stories forward
Experience of managing staff and getting high-level performance from a team
A natural ability for telling stories in a relatable and compelling way that readers love
An appreciation for Business Insider and what we do
A desire to work as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills

This is a full-time position based in our London office in Shoreditch.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
