Business Insider is hiring a finance editor to help shape our Wall Street coverage and manage a growing group of reporters.
Created for the digital generation, Business Insider is the largest business news site in the U.S. and one of the fastest-growing news brands in the world. We embrace the themes of positive change and innovation and use fast, fun, and informative storytelling to cover the business, tech, and finance news stories you need to know to work, play and live better.
Our finance desk covers news ranging from bank c-suite departures to mergers and acquisitions, and we have reporters covering asset management, hedge funds, and the emerging marijuana business. We want someone who is excited about the breadth of these topics, who also isn’t afraid to help reporters dig deep into some tough-to-crack companies.
The finance editor would be responsible for:
– Editing, fielding pitches, assigning and occasionally writing a range of digital stories including breaking news, scoops, trend pieces and investigations.
– Translating complicated financial topics for a broader audience.
– Growing our audience of Wall Street subscribers by finding creative ways to promote our stories across digital channels.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 year of experience covering banks, hedge funds, asset managers and/or financial technology. Any experience managing writers is a plus.
