Business Insider seeking visual features reporters to cover automotive industry

Business Insider is hiring full-time visual features reporters to tell captivating visual stories about the automotive industry, supercars, driving, and everything else that goes vroom.

A day in this role could consist of anything from writing a review for the car you test drove to putting together a slideshow on the newest hypercar Bugatti just announced.
Knowledge of cars and the automotive industry is a big plus for this role. The ideal candidate will have a discerning eye in what sets cars apart from each other, and what vehicle features matter most to consumers.
The visual features reporter is expected to pitch, shoot, and write their own stories on these topics and be equally adept at sourcing photos from online outlets.
The ideal candidate would also consider themselves both a photographer and a journalist with excellent news judgement who is constantly thinking about how to turn today’s big news story into tomorrow’s must-see visual feature.
You’ll be writing stories like these:
Business Insider is looking for someone with:
  • Excellent writing skills
  • A passion for telling visual stories
  • Interest in reporting on a variety of automotive topics
  • Experience taking and editing original photos
  • The ability to work at a fast pace as part of a team
Also a plus:
  • Copyediting skills
  • Light HTML experience
This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles.
