Business Insider is hiring full-time visual features reporters to tell captivating visual stories about the automotive industry, supercars, driving, and everything else that goes vroom.
A day in this role could consist of anything from writing a review for the car you test drove to putting together a slideshow on the newest hypercar Bugatti just announced.
Knowledge of cars and the automotive industry is a big plus for this role. The ideal candidate will have a discerning eye in what sets cars apart from each other, and what vehicle features matter most to consumers.
The visual features reporter is expected to pitch, shoot, and write their own stories on these topics and be equally adept at sourcing photos from online outlets.
The ideal candidate would also consider themselves both a photographer and a journalist with excellent news judgement who is constantly thinking about how to turn today’s big news story into tomorrow’s must-see visual feature.
You’ll be writing stories like these:
- I took a Tesla Model S on a road trip and quickly discovered why it’s unlike any other car on the market
- Bugatti’s new $18.7 million hypercar was purchased by an anonymous buyer, making it the most expensive new car ever sold
- We drove a $31,000 Honda Accord and a $39,000 Toyota Camry to see which one is the better family car. Here’s the verdict.
- I drove Mazda’s answer to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry — and I was blown away
