Bloomberg seeks tech editor in London

Our technology news team is expanding. We use the range of Bloomberg platforms – including the terminal, website, magazines, and television – to tell the story of how technology startups are setting new trends and challenging the incumbent global tech giants. We then explore how those giants are having to adapt their businesses within Europe.

You’re a knowledgeable editor who can develop compelling story ideas. You will shape stories about the hottest companies, biggest personalities, and the most surprising investments across the region.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Have awareness of the major news stories and trends within tech
  • Generate and shape story ideas with a strong story-telling ability
  • Edit copy for accuracy and insightful coverage
  • Attract and nurture top journalistic talent
  • Contribute to a range of platforms
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams across the company

You’ll need to have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven editing experience in business and financial journalism
  • Experience working in a real-time news environment

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
