Barron’s seeks online producer

Barron’s is looking for a multi-talented online editor who is can proofread a financial story on deadline, find and crop the perfect photo to illustrate it, and distill it into 140 characters to drive traffic on Twitter. In this producer role, the perfect candidate will work closely with the editorial, support, and technical teams to manage the homepage and produce articles for America’s premier financial magazine in multiple formats, including desktop, mobile web, iOS, and Android.

Responsibilities include:

  • Copy-editing investment stories
  • Working in the Dow Jones CMS to produce articles and videos, adding hyperlinks, images, and graphics as needed.
  • Choosing and cropping photos
  • Promoting stories on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Using analytics to inform social media choices and recommend curation decisions

Qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of digital editorial experience
  • Copy editing experience, print or digital
  • Basic knowledge of finance, investing, and economics
  • Proven ability to collaborate
  • Experience with tight deadlines
  • A track record of making sound judgment calls
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
