Drawing upon a broad network of sources and his or her experience covering investing and the fund industry, the successful candidate will break and aggregate news while offering opinion, analysis, and actionable advice.

In addition to daily blogging, the job includes writing the weekly ETF column and regular features for Barron’s magazine. We are looking for a candidate who has the expertise and poise to appear on video offering advice and analysis, and moderate panels if assigned to do so. The successful candidate must be able to write clean copy on tight deadlines to break news as well as aggregate and add perspective to news broken by other organizations.

He or she must also have the knowledge and judgment to put such stories into perspective. He or she will also offer investing advice, recommending good fund investments and warning readers away from bad ones.

The funds reporter writes a weekly column for Barron’s magazine offering industry analysis and investment advice. He or she will also organize ETF roundtables and write occasional features on fund-related topics.

Some travel is required, as the funds reporter is encouraged to attend industry conferences and network with portfolio managers and others in the industry.
