Barron’s, a financial news magazine and website published by Dow Jones, is launching an Asia edition this fall and seeks a seasoned editor for the role of Managing Editor.
This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong. The managing editor will help oversee Barron’s Asia, a premier, English-language paid website written for sophisticated investors in both Asia and the U.S. This job requires an experienced journalist with a nose for news, and who also understands the composition and production of copy at an expanding financial news website.
The managing editor will lead a small team of reporters and bloggers through the entire publication process – generating ideas, guiding reporters, editing copy and publishing stories. Successful applicants should be both detail-oriented and goal-driven. The ability to motivate reporters is vital, as is the broad vision to help shape a growing enterprise.
The ideal candidate should have at least five to 10 years’ experience covering financial news and markets, especially equities. Management experience, familiarity with Asia, and knowledge of web publishing are all major plusses.
Dow Jones offers an opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading financial and business news companies. We invite interested candidates to submit in confidence a cover letter and detailed resume stating your qualifications, contact details and current and expected via here.
