Barron’s is seeking an experienced journalist to cover the economy by writing analyses of major economic news events as they are happening and enterprise that reveals what those events mean for the broader economy, companies, financial markets and the pocketbooks of ordinary Americans.
You Will:
- Lead our coverage of the Federal Reserve and cover other aspects of the economy
- Develop compelling stories drawn from on-the-ground reporting and interviews with workers, the unemployed, economists, business owners or company executives
- Write breaking news and news analysis in real time
- Develop and write enterprise stories in clear, compelling ways
You Have:
- 3-5 years of experience working as a staff reporter at a major newsroom
- The ability to collaborate with reporters, editors and our visual journalists
- A background and understanding of economics, economic data and economic news releases
- The position can be based in New York City or Washington D.C., but this person must be willing to develop sources and attend major events at the Federal Reserve in person in Washington, as well as the central bank’s annual summit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming
