Barron’s Group seeks a senior video producer

Barron’s Group is seeking a highly creative video producer and editor to join its video team in New York to produce a weekly markets show and create video content for multiple Dow Jones publications including MarketWatch and Barron’s.

The video producer/editor is responsible for writing, producing, and editing highly engaging and informative markets content and evergreen business and finance-focused videos. Top candidates for this position will have a professional background in business video and business journalism, demonstrate exceptional producing and editing skills, and have experience writing for and producing on-camera talent.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for pitching, producing and editing short form business, finance and markets videos (approximately 2-4 mins in length)

Responsible for the execution of a weekly markets show approximately 10 mins in length

Coordinate day-to-day workflow of video production including content creation, scheduling, guest/source booking, scripting, production and post-production

Produce On-Air Talent and coordinate graphics for weekly show

Edit segments and use graphics templates

Ensure that all videos elements are accurate and are delivered on time

Manage and track viewing statistics and collaborate with the Audience Development and Research Analytics teams to maximize audience growth and identify new opportunities

Requirements:

5+ years experience producing and editing video including directing talent and managing multiple elements

Professional competency editing with Adobe Premiere and creating professional graphics utilizing After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator

Experience booking guests and finding sources for videos

Adept at script writing for both markets news and explainer topics

Interest, understanding and experience in financial markets coverage

Exceptional news judgment

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work and solve problems under deadline pressure

Strong communication, written and collaboration skills

Self starter who is nimble, innovative and versatile
