The Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico’s largest daily newspaper, is seeking a Digital Editor. The Journal’s Digital Editor oversees and manages the execution of digital content, products and social media while working with reporters to optimize their content. Ultimately, this position’s No. 1 goal is to grow The Journal’s audience and create online products that are a mirror of the community. The digital editor is responsible for managing a team while also producing content themselves. They are tasked with finding new approaches and tactics for telling stories across all media platforms. The right candidate should be able to think and act strategically but also roll up their sleeves and be in the weeds when needed. This manager must be a great planner, ensuring that content appears on schedule and that distribution channels are all being used to drive the most audience possible. The digital editor must be collaborative, assertive and should be viewed as someone who is great to work with, solves problems and makes people around them better.
