Business North Carolina won five prizes, including top honors for feature story and headlines, in the 2006 Alliance of Area Business Publications Editorial Excellence Awards. It was named the nation’s third-best regional business magazine for the fourth year in a row.
Senior Editor Ed Martin won the gold prize for best magazine feature for his cover story on the Canton floods, which appeared in the magazine’s July 2005 issue. This was the fourth year in a row that one of his stories has taken top prize in the category — and the sixth time in seven years that a BNC writer has won it.
Martin also won the silver prize for best body of magazine work by a single writer. He won the bronze award in the category last year, after winning the gold prize three years running. This was the third consecutive year that the Charlotte-based magazine won the gold prize for headlines.
