Deborah Kearns, real estate editor at Bankrate.com, has left the news organization.
She joined the website in June 2018.
On Twitter, Kearns wrote, “I have left Bankrate for a new role. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunities I had there, including media appearances and editing. Blessed to have worked with talented, kind people, and I wish them the best.”
Kearns has a wealth of experience covering housing and mortgage issues. Prior to joining Bankrate, she freelanced for clients such as Credit Karma, Investopedia, Realtor.com, Country Living, RISMedia, The Mortgage Reports and Atlanta Magazine, among others.
She previously covered mortgage news for NerdWallet and was senior editor of corporate communications at RE/MAX for more than seven years.
Kearns began her journalism career as a police beat reporter with The Gainesville Sun after graduating from the University of Florida with an undergraduate degree in journalism.
