Bloomberg’s Josh Rogin is joining the Washington Post as a columnist, reports Hadas Gold of Politico.
Gold writes, “Rogin, who joined Bloomberg’s opinion and analysis site in 2014 to much fanfare, will anchor ‘a heavily-reported opinion blog focusing on diplomacy and foreign affairs,’ the Post announced.
“The blog is part of a new global expansion the Post is undertaking called Global Opinions, which will feature columnists from major regions across the world and will be led by Pulitzer-prize winning columnist Anne Applebaum.
“‘At a time of unprecedented challenges in the international arena, and as a new U.S. president is chosen and charts a course in the world, The Post is strengthening its commitment to provide thought-provoking commentary across a broad ideological spectrum on war and peace, democracy and dictatorship, trade, migration and other global issues, beginning with Europe,’ Fred Hiatt, Washington Post’s editorial page editor said in a statement ‘At the heart of this initiative is our desire to tap into the debates and discussions happening in countries around the world and offer a variety of perspectives that explore how the international community views U.S. policy and how U.S. policymakers view the international landscape.'”
