Yahoo Finance is seeking five business journalists to work for its website operations, editor Aaron Task tells Talking Biz News.

The first is for a personal finance writer. Candidates should have strong news sensibility and a passion for personal finance coverage.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable with making decisions regarding story selection, and coordinating coverage of key topics with Yahoo Finance editors and partners.

The second position is for a junior reporter to support writing effort for breaking news articles/columns on the biggest stories of the day.  The ideal candidate will have at least three years experience in journalism, or relevant industry experience.

The third position is for a breaking news columnist to lead its daily coverage of breaking news stories with a focus on financial news.  More specifically, this person will provide detailed, ongoing analyses of individual companies and/or stocks as dictated by the latest news cycle.

The fourth position is for a New York-based journalist to serve a variety of editorial roles. This person will write original content, with a specific focus on stories generated from activity on social media sites and Yahoo Finance data. In addition, this person will serve as “quality control” editor over the news feeds on its quote pages, occasionally package partner content and serve as a backup editor for its original content.

The fifth position is for a beat reporter with extensive industry knowledge, deep sourcing and a proven track record of breaking news on their beat.  Primary areas of interest are the tech, biotech, finance, and energy sectors. He or she should also extensive online media experience (writing experience preferred). Preference will be given to candidates with experience working across various platforms, including video.
