Nonprofit journalism outlet EdSource has hired Dympna Ugwu-Oju as K-12 editor.
Recently, Ugwu-Oju server as the editor of Fresnoland Lab at The Fresno Bee, “a team of journalists focused on reporting stories at the intersection of housing, water, neighborhoods and inequality,” as stated on the Bee’s website.
Her tweet reads:
“I have treasured every minute of being Fresnoland’s senior editor for the last three years – the people I have worked with and the public who have trusted us with their stories.
“I am excited for this new chapter @EdSource It feels like a homecoming — to all my years in the classroom and before curriculum committees, serving on the academic senate and advocating for my students. No matter how far I am from a classroom, I remain a teacher at heart.”
