The Financial Times launched Fashion Matters, a weekly newsletter on the intersection of business, culture, politics and style.
The newsletter intends to focus on the $2 trillion fashion industry and explore how it has culturally influenced the music and entertainment industries, politics, climate policy, and those in the public eye.
“Fashion Matters will give readers an exclusive, unvarnished opinion on the fashion industry, delivered in a frank and occasionally funny way,” said FT fashion editor Lauren Indvik in a statement. “We know there is demand for more coverage on the business of fashion, on menswear, and how ESG intersects with fashion and business and we wanted to address these topics directly with our readers in a more intimate way.”
Fashion Matters is edited by Indvik, with contributions from correspondents in France, Italy and China.
Prior to joining the FT in 2020, she was the founding editor-in-chief of Vogue Business and previously reported on business and technology in New York. Indvik was awarded Fashion Journalist of the Year at the 2020 Press Awards.
