Emily Nelson, U.S. coverage chief at The Wall Street Journal, and Ashby Jones, deputy coverage chief, sent out the following on Friday:
All,
We are thrilled to announce that Robert Barba is joining U.S. News in the newly created position of News Editor.
Robert joins us from the Real-Time Desk where for nearly three years he has run a team of reporters handling breaking corporate news.
We expect you will all have the chance to work with Robert. He will be working alongside us in New York and will play several different roles depending on news flow. At times, he will edit stories when a bureau is busy. He will also step in to run breaking news stories. And other times, he may be involved in the earliest conversations about story ideas and help you shape and develop them.
Robert joined WSJ in 2018 as the deputy editor on the Real-Time Desk. Prior to The Journal, Robert held various roles at American Banker. He is from Denver and is a graduate of the University of Colorado.
Robert will start Monday, April 4. Please join us in welcoming Robert to the U.S. News leadership team.
Thank you,
Emily/Ashby
