The Corridor Business Journal, a weekly business publication in Iowa’s Creative Corridor, seeks an enterprising reporter to cover business news throughout the Corridor’s seven-county area.
The reporter is responsible for developing and cultivating sources within the region and is expected to produce both daily and enterprise stories. The reporter delivers CBJ content across all platforms including digital, social media and print. Will also contribute to a weekly television partnership with KCRG-TV9. Copy editing, proofreading and photography skills are desired.
The ideal candidate must be flexible, inquisitive and a strong writer with high production values. The candidate must also be attentive to detail and thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, while also remaining open to coaching and continuous improvement. Must have excellent news judgment, ability to regularly find scoops and cultivate watchdog sources and issues.
At least two-three years of journalism/news reporting experience is required. Must be an AP style expert, with a firm grasp of business and industry concepts. Social media, photography and/or Adobe Creative Suite skills are preferred.
