American City Business Journals-owned Columbus Business First is seeking funding from Cleveland-area businesses and organizations in an attempt to establish a newsroom in Cleveland.
As per reports, the major competitor is Crain’s as both ACBJ and Crain’s offer somewhat similar digital and print content to local subscribers in the areas of business and law, real estate, manufacturing, sports, education, and nonprofits and philanthropy.
Also, both publications regularly print industry lists in their print editions and publish an annual “Book of Lists” which includes data on local companies.
Both companies also host events and ceremonies to celebrate regional leaders and news makers.
It’s still not clear whether the new outlet will be an independent newsroom or will it be a satellite of Columbus Business First.
