We’re very pleased to announce that Eva Dou will join The Post as a China correspondent, with a focus on business and technology.
This is a new position, part of our international expansion. Eva will be based in Beijing, where she will join Anna Fifield, the bureau chief; Gerry Shih, a China correspondent; and a team of outstanding researchers to add to our coverage of China, its 1.4 billion people, and its pivotal role in the world and the global economy.
Eva comes to us from the Wall Street Journal, where she has spent the last seven years reporting business and political news from Beijing and Taipei. She has done standout work on multiple fronts, including an investigation into China’s use of forced labor from Xinjiang in textile and food supply chains, and reporting on China’s surveillance technologies. As the child of adventurous parents, she grew up in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan, speaks Chinese, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she majored in economics and journalism.
Eva will report to Foreign, under David Crawshaw, our Hong Kong-based Asia editor, and will also work closely with Business. She will start work in the newsroom on March 23, and will return to Beijing to take up her new posting once she gains the necessary accreditation.
