Josh Barro, a senior editor and columnist at Business Insider, is leaving the website.
His destination was not mentioned in an email sent out on Wednesday by editor in chief Nicholas Carlson.
On Twitter, Barro wrote, “I have an exciting next step that will be announced in the coming days.”
Barro rejoined Business Insider in February 2016, taking charge of the site’s commentary team while also writing columns on politics, business and the economy.
He previously worked at Business Insider as politics editor, but left after less than a year in 2014 to join The New York Times’ policy venture The Upshot.
Before entering journalism, he worked in policy research for think tanks and as a real-estate banker at Wells Fargo.
Barro is a contributor to MSNBC; host of KCRW’s “Left, Right & Center”; and cohost with Linette Lopez of “Hard Pass.” He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard College.
