Politico Pro announced Tuesday that it is expanding its health care coverage by hiring reporters in California, Boston and the Southeast.
These three reporters will be responsible for covering state-level health care news for a national audience. Politico has nine Washington-based reporters covering health care on a national level.
Additionally, Pro Health Care will expand its popular State Week feature to include more of its coverage from state capitols and introduce Health Care Influence, a newsletter dedicated to tracking the people at the intersection of lobbying and policy in health care and the growing ehealth field.
“Pro Health Care’s coverage expansion comes as more health policy decisions are being made at the state level — while Washington is often gridlocked,” said Joanne Kenen, executive editor, health, in a statement. “By deploying reporters to key regions around the country, Pro will be able to bring original, real time scoops on state policy — with an emphasis on news that will have an impact at the national level.”
Pro Health Care also announced a year-long polling partnership with the T. H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. This partnership will include collaboration on health and domestic policy-related polls that will be shared with Pro subscribers and the broader Politico audience. The first poll is expected to be released later this month.
