Personal finance site Investopedia.com recorded record traffic in November and early December, boosted by interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
The month drew over 27 million visitors and recorded 85 million page views. Video streams topped 24 million, a 105 percent increase from the past year.
The first week of December saw the most weekly traffic and highest traffic day in company history. Investopedia.com cracked the top 10 of all investing and finance sites for the first time in October.
“As markets continue to push higher in the U.S. and around the world while Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies make staggering new highs and capture the public’s attention, record numbers of people are coming to us, as they always have, to educate themselves to make smart investing decisions,” said CEO David Siegel in a statement.
Investopedia.com’s workforce has tripled to 150 employees between the New York City and Edmonton, Canada, offices. The editorial and content team has grown by 50 percent in the past year under editor Caleb Silver.
