Victoria Taylor has been hired by LinkedIn as its first community editor.
Taylor writes, “I’ve been humbled and grateful to have an incredible network and a community that’s supported me over the years. And that’s why I’m thrilled to be joining as LinkedIn’s first-ever Community Editor. I’ll be joining the global editorial team to seek out and elevate amazing stories, ideas, and contributors from the LinkedIn community. My focus: To help build and foster connections, not just among professional verticals and groups but across disciplines and around the world.
“It means I’ll be looking for ways that we here at LinkedIn can help you not just with the news and views professionals need to talk about the things that matter — but discover other members with similar hopes, dreams and problems.
“My experience at reddit strengthened my love of helping others share their stories. Following that, as part of the WeWork team, I was able to connect members around the world — entrepreneurs, freelancers, founders, creatives, and more — with ideas, opportunities and resources. Whether it’s getting to know someone by recording a podcast interview with them, or introducing potential collaborators, I believe that vibrant community is a function of helping each other: reaching out, sharing knowledge and support, and paying it forward.
“I believe we at LinkedIn have the opportunity to facilitate more of those connections than ever before through power of our unique platform.”
