Henneberger leaving Bloomberg to become Roll Call editor
Hadas Gold of Politico writes, “Henneberger joins the paper from Bloomberg Politics, where she is a senior writer covering the 2016 election. Previously she was founder of AOL’s Politics Daily, launched ‘She the People’ opinion blog at the Washington Post, wrote for the New York Times and New York News Day.
“‘I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the chance to lead Roll Call’s talented team in this uncertain but also incredibly exciting moment for journalism,’ Henneberger said in a statement. ‘And I want to thank Congress in advance for supplying us with such sure-fire material.’
“Former Roll Call editor-in-chief Christina Bellantoni left for the Los Angeles Times over the summer. Since Bellantoni’s departure Roll Call has experienced a period of turmoil. Two top reporters, Steven Dennis and David Eldridge were let go earlier this week and staffers are worried of further cuts. Current Roll Call staff have said the paper is trying to make the company more ‘digital focused’ changing the timing of the work day to best suit web traffic.”
