Investigative journalist Jaimi Dowdell has been hired by Reuters and will be joining its data team.
She will start in June and will report to Janet Roberts, the editor in charge of data journalism.
Dowdell most recently has been a consultant and project manager for the Asian American Journalists Association. Before that, she was a Spotlight fellow at the Boston Globe.
Dowdell spent nearly nine years with Investigative Reporters and Editors as a trainer, running workshops. She trained hundreds of professional and student journalists worldwide on data journalism and investigative reporting techniques.
She also worked as a computer-assisted reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 2005 to 2008.
Dowdell has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
