A former ad saleswoman for the Denver Business Journal has sued the American City Business Journals paper, claiming she lost her job because of age and gender discrimination, according to a Denver Post story.
Greg Griffin wrote, “Karin Tilley, 52, of Littleton is seeking damages of more than $2 million in a discrimination and retaliation case set to go to trial in November. “American City Business Journals, the Charlotte, N.C.-based owner of the Denver Business Journal, denies the allegations in court filings.
“Denver Business Journal publisher Scott Bemis and the paper’s attorney, Jeffrey Johnson of Holland & Hart, did not respond Monday to inquiries about the suit.
“Tilley claims that her supervisors discriminated against her beginning in 2001 by reducing the categories of businesses in which she could sell advertising. That resulted in a significant loss of income, she said in her amended complaint.”
